Family, carved by hand in Lincoln Cathedral limestone and finished with gold enamel paint.
The stone originates from the Cathedral’s own quarry on Riseholme Road in Lincoln, and is the same stone used for the original construction of the minster, as well as it’s ongoing restoration.
Opened in the mid 1800’s the current quarry has now sadly ceased extraction due to the constraints of it’s location.
The stone is now a rarity, and serves as a memento of our local history.
